Can’t even fathom someone liking Limp Bizkit, Korn, Offspring etc. back then, let alone today. Jay is right…. it’s shit and always was.

Think about MNS movies whatever you want but at least they generate great discussion… amazing episode this week!

I’ll be a philistine who defends Korn a bit. As far as longevity, they’ve been and still are consistently active, and even though they aren’t nearly as popular as they once were, I think their albums still tend to debut within the top 10 of Billboard’s album charts.

Although Korn actually seemed to be pretty well-received critically with their early albums, nu-metal had a terrible reputation before and still does now (even metal fans routinely call it fake metal or something similar), but I think it’s influence can still be heard to some extent. There are at least a few acclaimed non-metal musicians incorporating nu-metal influences, like Rina Sawayama and Poppy.

I wonder why Film Junk hasn’t done a Godfather premium. I watched the first two for the first time since the 90s and my biggest takeaway is that they’re almost like well-respected Omen movies. Definitely a horror element there. Jay should be all over these films. There’s another strange thing no one mentions about the films. The first movie has this weird schizophrenia where Brando’s Godfather is almost supposed to be Santa Clause, so virtuous a mafia man is he, and then Pacino’s Michael takes over and it turns into The Omen III, so unholy and evil a mafia man is he, and it continues down that path for the sequel. The film almost seems to call out the dichotomy between Brando’s Jor-El Corleone and Pacino’s Damian Corleone during Brando’s death scene because the only scene in the film where the mafia don scares someone, that someone is a young child. This dichotomy is carried into the sequel, where DeNiro’s young Vito Corleone is made out to be the patron saint of mafia men (I’d suggest there’s some effort to liken him to Jesus during the street festival scene), while Pacino’s Corleone is having his praying brother killed in the family home’s backyard. What gives, Sean? Maybe it’s a nostalgia thing. It’s like people who wax nostalgic for Woodstock 99. Coppola just wanted to go back to the good ol’ early days of mob rule.

  • Alex Garland’s The Beach is one of my favorite novels of all time. The movie doesn’t really do it a lot of justice, but the soundtrack is killer.

Funnily enough, 1999 is my favourite year in music. However, not for those bands that played Woodstock.

DR. JOROMI IS TRULY A POWERFUL MAN. Contacting Dr Joromi is the best thing that has ever happened to me. My husband left me for another woman for the reason which i know nothing about. I tried every means to get him back but to no avail, all my efforts proved abortive. I was even contemplating suicide. On a lucky day when i was browsing the internet, i came across some amazing testimonies about Dr. Joromi on how he has helped a lot of people with his powerful love spells. I contacted him and explained all my problems to him and he assured me that he will help me. He told me what to do and assured me that my man will be back in 12 hours. I obeyed him and followed the instructions and to my Greatest surprise, my man called me in 12 hours time just as Dr. Joromi said. Thank you Dr Joromi. May the good God continue to bless you.
