Disney’s Encanto Trailer

2021 is shaping up to be a pretty big year for Lin-Manuel Miranda with no less than four major releases all bearing his name in some capacity. In addition to In the Heights and his upcoming directorial debut Tick, Tick… Boom!, he is also involved in new animated movies coming from both Sony (Vivo) and Disney (Encanto). The first trailer for the latter has arrived this week and introduces the Madrigal family who live in a magical house in a small town called Encanto hidden in the mountains of Colombia. They all have fantastical powers with the exception of 15-year-old Mirabel, who will embark on a journey of self-discovery when Encanto’s magic becomes threatened. Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the music and the voice cast includes Stephanie Beatriz, María Cecilia Botero, Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa, Diane Guerrero, Mauro Castillo, Angie Cepeda, Jessica Darrow, Rhenzy Feliz and Carolina Gaitán. Encanto is directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard (Zootopia) and Charise Castro Smith and it hits theatres on Nov. 24th; check out the trailer below and see what you think.
