Turner & Hooch Trailer: The 1989 Canine Buddy Cop Comedy Becomes a Disney+ Series

In addition to their Star Wars and Marvel properties, Disney has also been turning to their catalogue of ’80s and ’90s family films as inspiration for new original shows as well. Following up on The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, the next one on the list is a TV series reboot of the 1989 Tom Hanks comedy Turner & Hooch. As with The Mighty Ducks, they have decided to keep it a sequel within the world of the original and although Tom Hanks does not reprise his role, Josh Peck plays the son of his character who inherits another uncontrollable French Mastiff named Hooch. He is also a cop (a U.S. Marshal in this case) and the trailer seems to hit a lot of familiar comedic beats. Turner & Hooch is created by Matt Nix (Burn Notice) with McG directing the pilot episode and it premieres on Disney+ on July 21st; check out the trailer below and see what you think.
