Anthony Bourdain’s death back in 2018 took the world by surprise and prompted an outpouring of emotion. Now three years later, director Morgan Neville (Won’t You Be My Neighbor?) is providing a heartfelt tribute to the man in the form of a definitive documentary about his life, covering his transition from rock star chef to free-spirited author, thoughtful world traveller and beloved TV personality. Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain is a co-production of CNN Films and HBO Max and looks to bring together mostly unseen footage from his TV shows with new interviews with David Chang, Éric Ripert and members of his production crew as well as other family and friends. It also appears to be narrated by Bourdain himself. Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this month followed by a theatrical release on July 16th; check out the trailer below and see what you think.
