After 2016’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows struggled at the box office and failed to redeem Michael Bay’s take on the characters, Paramount ultimately opted to abandon the series in favour of yet another reboot. We heard last year that a brand new CG-animated feature was being developed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures and now this week we have a small update on the project. It appears that it will be hitting theatres two years from now, although additional details may or may not be hidden in a page of notes recently shared by Rogen on social media. Here is the image that he posted on Twitter:

As you can see, the release date is Aug. 11th, 2023, but there is no official title as of yet. There is also mention of different types of mutations and other scientific things that could be vague hints at plot details. The movie will be helmed by Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs. The Machines), which is at least one reason to get excited about it. The last fully animated movie was the 2007 film TMNT directed by Kevin Munroe. Do you have high hopes for the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot?
