It’s shaping up to be a pretty good summer for horror movie fans as studios turn to low budget genre movies to help to ease people back into theatres. Spiral: From the Book of Saw and A Quiet Place Part II are already out with The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It set to arrive this weekend. Other upcoming films include Werewolves Within, The Forever Purge, Old, Don’t Breathe 2, The Night House, Demonic and Candyman. Now Sony is throwing another title into the mix with the upcoming sequel to the 2019 thriller Escape Room. This one is called Escape Room: Tournament of Champions and it seems like more of the same but it should at least satisfy anyone who was disappointed to see the Saw franchise move more in the direction of a police procedural. Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is once again directed by Adam Robitel (Insidious: The Last Key) and it hits theatres on July 16th; check out the trailer below and see what you think.
