Following the strategy employed by Disney+ and HBO Max over the past year, Paramount is looking to attract new subscribers to Paramount+ by shifting a major theatrical release over to the streaming service. Last week they announced that the upcoming sci-fi action flick Infinite would be bypassing theatres altogether and now they have released an official trailer for the film. Directed by Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer), the movie stars Mark Wahlberg as a man on the verge of a mental breakdown who discovers that his memories of past lives are all real and that he is part of a group called the Infinites. They are reborn over and over throughout the centuries with their knowledge and memories mostly intact and now they must stop one of their own (Chiwetel Ejiofor) from destroying humanity. It feels similar in some ways to The Old Guard but whether the move to Paramount+ is a bad sign remains to be seen. Infinite arrives on Paramount+ on June 10th; check out the trailer below and see what you think.
