Sweet Tooth Trailer: Netflix Adapts Jeff Lemire’s Post-Apocalyptic Fairy Tale

Netflix has had no shortage of original TV shows based on comic books over the past few years from their various Marvel shows to things like The Umbrella Academy and the upcoming Jupiter’s Legacy. Next on their schedule is an adaptation of Jeff Lemire’s Sweet Tooth, but unlike those other shows this isn’t a superhero story. The series takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where something called The Great Crumble has caused widespread destruction and also the emergence of human-animal hybrids. A deer-boy named Gus befriends a wandering loner named Jeppard and together they set off across America in search of answers. The show is created by Jim Mickle (Stake Land) who also directs and it is produced by Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey. Sweet Tooth debuts on Netflix on June 4th; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.

Something tells me a boy with horns looks better in a comic book than in a live action series. It just looks silly, don’t it?
