Between Marvel movies, Jurassic movies and Lego movies, Chris Pratt has kept himself pretty busy with massive blockbuster franchises these days. There hasn’t been a whole lot of room in his schedule for much else although he did manage to fit in a few things like Passengers, The Magnificent 7 and Vincent D’Onofrio’s The Kid. Next up is an original sci-fi action movie called The Tomorrow War, where he will carry another potential new franchise without any of the levity that he is generally known for (it’s actually hilarious just how generic and humourless this looks although the teaser is pretty short). Directed by Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie), the movie finds a group of time travellers from the year 2051 coming to the present day to recruit soldiers and civilians to help them fight a future war against a deadly alien species. It was originally supposed to get a theatrical release but it was acquired by Amazon earlier this year. The Tomorrow War arrives on Prime Video on July 2nd; check out the first teaser trailer below and see what you think.
