2021 Oscar Winners

oscars2021winners

After a very strange year for movies in general it seems only fitting that the Academy Awards were equally weird. Held at Union Station in Los Angeles with only the nominees and presenters in attendance, it was a very stripped down and very quiet evening although most of the major awards still went as expected. Nomadland took Best Picture with Chloe Zhao and Frances McDormand also winning Best Director and Best Actress respectively. However, the biggest surprise came at the very end of the night with Anthony Hopkins taking Best Actor for his performance in The Father, upsetting heavy favourite Chadwick Boseman. Of course, that only happened after they had already announced Best Picture, which was an unexpected change to the ceremony this year. What did you think of this year’s Oscars? Check out the full list of winners after the jump.
