Between the somewhat experimental, high-concept WandaVision and the more conventional, action-heavy The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Marvel has shown two templates thus far for what they can do with a limited series on Disney+. Next on the agenda is their highly anticipated Loki spin-off series which, based on the new trailer, seems like it might fall more on the high-concept side of things. Created by Michael Waldron (Rick and Morty, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), the show finds Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Thor’s adoptive brother, who has been captured by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) after stealing the Tesseract and is now being sent to various points in human history to help repair the timeline. It looks kind of like Doctor Who meets Brazil although it remains to be seen just how weird Marvel is willing to get with it. Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Richard E. Grant, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Sasha Lane also co-star. Loki arrives on Disney+ on June 11th; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
