Space Jam: A New Legacy Trailer Starring LeBron James

Twenty-five years after the original Space Jam hit theatres, the sequel / reboot is ready to pass the torch from Air Jordan to King James. Space Jam: A New Legacy finds LeBron James and his son (played by Cedric Joe) being sucked into a virtual world by a rogue A.I. (Don Cheadle) and forced to play basketball against a team of digital ringers. Joining him, of course, is the entire Looney Tunes roster, with the characters shifting between 2D and 3D animated representations depending on where they are. The movie also seems to feature cameos from many other Warner Brothers properties in a Ready Player One-esque scenario. Space Jam: A New Legacy is directed by Malcolm D. Lee (Girls Trip, Night School) and it arrives in theatres and on HBO Max on July 16th; check out the first full trailer below and let us know what you think.

    Hmmh, I don’t know…

For me so far only Joe Dante has captured what I like in Looney Tunes with “back in action”. I simply don’t get the connection between basketball and tunes.

Well at least the animation looks ok…

Great comparison with Ready Player One. It looks exactly like that towards the end of the trailer. But this doesn’t look too bad either. I might be on board, which never thought would happen.

Meh…the animation looks fantastic but I’m not a Lebron fan anyway so count me out.
