After being delayed by a full year due to the pandemic, the upcoming movie adaptation of Quiara Alegría Hudes and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s 2007 musical In the Heights is finally about to see the light of day. Directed by Jon M. Chu (Step Up 3D, Crazy Rich Asians), the movie takes place over three days in Washington Heights, a primarily Dominican neighborhood in New York City. Warner Brothers has just unveiled not one but two new trailers for the movie and it looks like an uplifting audiovisual extravaganza that deserves to be seen on the big screen. With any luck, most theatres in the U.S. will finally be open by the time it hits, but as with all of WB’s major 2021 releases it will also premiere on HBO Max simultaneously. In the Heights arrives on June 18th; check out the trailers below and let us know what you think.
