Hidden among next week’s launch line-up for Paramount+ is a brand new true crime documentary series that Film Junk’s own Jay Cheel worked on. It is called For Heaven’s Sake and it revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a man named Harold Heaven, who vanished from his remote cabin in Ontario, Canada in the winter of 1934. His body was never found and now some 85 years later his great-great-nephew decided to bring a film crew along to investigate this family tragedy and to try to separate truth from legend. The series has a bit of a comedic angle as well, being co-produced by Funny or Die and the guys who made American Vandal. For Heaven’s Sake arrives on Paramount+ in the U.S. and on CBC Gems in Canada on March 4th; check out the trailer below and see what you think.
