Misha Green to Replace Ben Wheatley on Tomb Raider Sequel

I guess we will have to wait just a little bit longer to see Ben Wheatley’s first studio film. This week we are hearing that he has dropped out as the director of MGM’s Tomb Raider sequel and instead has been replaced with Misha Green, creator of HBO’s horror series Lovecraft Country. Green directed an episode of the series and wrote the upcoming female action-thriller The Mother, in addition to working on such shows as Sons of Anarchy, Underground and Helix. She expressed enthusiasm for the project on Twitter and revealed herself to be a long-time fan of the games as well:

Alicia Vikander is attached to reprise her role as Lara Croft for the movie, although additional details are currently unknown. As for Wheatley, he is still attached to direct The Meg 2 for Warner Brothers. Are you looking forward to Tomb Raider 2?
