Space Sweepers Trailer: The Epic South Korean Sci-fi Adventure Comes to Netflix

The space opera genre has not been a particularly popular one in Korean cinema up until now, but that may be starting to change with the arrival of the country’s first major space-themed blockbuster, Space Sweepers. The movie seems to be borrowing more from Guardians of the Galaxy than Star Wars but clearly follows a band of scrappy rogues and misfits on a mission while also maintaining a sense of humour. The plot revolves around a crew of space junk collectors who are forced to become reluctant heroes after coming into possession of a robot that is actually a weapon of mass destruction. Directed by Jo Sung-hee (A Werewolf Boy, Phantom Detective), the movie debuts on Netflix worldwide on Feb. 5th; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
