From last year’s H.P. Lovecraft adaptation Color Out of Space and the Predator-inspired martial arts flick Jiu Jitsu to Netflix’s History of Swear Words and the self-aware comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, these days Nicolas Cage seems to be choosing his upcoming projects based almost solely on their WTF factor. Now here’s another one to add to the list: a horror movie called Willy’s Wonderland that will seem awfully familiar to fans of Five Nights at Freddy’s. Cage plays a janitor at a family fun center who faces off against demonic animatronic characters and becomes increasingly unhinged. On the one hand, it seems surprising that they can get away with this legally considering that there is already a Five Nights at Freddy’s movie in the works at Blumhouse, but on the other hand something tells me Blumhouse doesn’t have much to worry about here. Directed by Kevin Lewis (Malibu Spring Break), Willy’s Wonderland arrives in select theatres and on VOD on Feb. 12th. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.
