Although this isn’t quite the revival that Hannibal fans have been hoping for, some fans may be intrigued to hear that there is a new TV series launching early next year set in the world of Thomas Harris’ books. Clarice is a sequel of sorts to The Silence of the Lambs and takes place one year later, focusing on “the untold personal story” of FBI agent Clarice Starling as she hunts down more serial killers and sexual predators. Lecter is unlikely to make an appearance since they do not have the rights to use the character, but any character that was introduced in The Silence of the Lambs is apparently fair game. The show stars Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little Liars, The Originals) in the lead role with Elizabeth Klaviter (The Resident, Grey’s Anatomy) acting as showrunner and Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet writing and executive producing. Clarice premieres on CBS on Feb. 11th; check out the first teaser trailer below and see what you think.
