Regina King’s One Night in Miami Trailer

Everyone has been talking about how Netflix might break an Oscar record for the most Best Picture nominees by a single studio this year, but Amazon has at least a couple of awards contenders up their sleeve including Regina King’s directorial debut One Night in Miami. Based on the play by Kemp Powers, the story presents a fictionalized meeting between Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Jim Brown, and Sam Cooke in a Miami hotel room in February 1964 following Ali’s win over Sonny Liston. Starring Kingsley Ben-Adir as Malcolm X, Eli Goree as Muhammad Ali, Aldis Hodge as Jim Brown and Leslie Odom Jr. as Sam Cooke, the movie received strong reviews coming out of the Venice Film Festival and was the first runner up for the People’s Choice Award at TIFF. One Night in Miami hits select theatres on Christmas Day followed by a release on Prime Video on Jan. 15th; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
