Netflix has one more awards season entry to add to their already impressive list with the release of the acclaimed drama Pieces of a Woman early next year. Directed by Hungarian director Kornél Mundruczó (White God), the movie stars Vanessa Kirby and Shia LaBeouf as a couple who experience the painful loss of a child and struggle to come to terms with their grief in different ways. The movie is said to be emotionally devastating and Kirby’s performance in particular has been singled out as being Oscar-worthy (she won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival a few months ago). Pieces of a Woman co-stars Molly Parker, Sarah Snook, Iliza Shlesinger, Benny Safdie, Jimmie Fails and Ellen Burstyn and Martin Scorsese is also listed as executive producer. Pieces of a Woman hits select theatres on Dec. 30th before arriving on Netflix on Jan. 7th; check out the trailer below and see what you think.
