This week Warner Brothers has unveiled the first trailer for their upcoming live-action / CG animated film Tom & Jerry, which brings the iconic cat and mouse duo back to the big screen for the first time since 1992’s Tom and Jerry: The Movie. Directed by Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Ride Along), the movie stars Chloë Grace Moretz as a wedding planner who is tasked with cleaning up a high end New York hotel’s unfortunate mouse problem. (I think you can see where this is going.) The animation style is more in the vein of The Peanuts Movie and looks to capture the traditional 2D sensibility and slapstick antics while still using 3D models. Michael Peña, Colin Jost, Ken Jeong, Rob Delaneya and Pallavi Sharda also co-star. Tom & Jerry is currently scheduled to hit theatres on March 5th, 2021, although that date is likely subject to change. Check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
