It has been eight months since COVID-19 hit and we’re just now starting to see some movies being released that were shot over that period of time including Borat Subsequent Moviefilm and Totally Under Control (not to mention a handful of smaller indie films). Also this week we have the first trailer for Songbird, a Michael Bay-produced thriller that was not only shot during COVID but also uses the pandemic as a starting point for a dystopian near-future scenario. Co-written and directed by Adam Mason (Into the Dark), the movie revolves around an immune courier trying desperately to make it across Los Angeles to save his girlfriend from being thrown into a quarantine camp after her neighbour is found to be infected. Songbird stars KJ Apa, Sofia Carson, Demi Moore, Bradley Whitford, Craig Robinson, Alexandra Daddario, Paul Walter Hauser and Peter Stormare and the release date is still TBA. Check out the first trailer below and see what you think.
