Disney may not be ready to release any of their major titles in theatres right now, but they are at least willing to throw theatre owners a bone with a few of their leftover Fox titles. For the moment, both Free Guy and Death on the Nile are still expected to release theatrically in December and now this week they have also announced that the previously shelved horror movie The Empty Man is heading to theatres next week. Based on the graphic novel by Cullen Bunn and Vanesa R. Del Rey, the movie revolves around an ex-cop (James Badge Dale) investigating the disappearance of missing teenagers in a small Midwestern town. He soon stumbles across a group trying to summon “a horrific, mystical entity.” Directed by David Prior, a long-time director of behind the scenes documentaries, this looks like pretty generic stuff but if you’re a horror fan desperate to get back to the theatre, I suppose this will do the trick. The Empty Man hits theatres on Oct. 23rd; check out the trailer below and see what you think.
