Following up on last week’s announcement that a She-Hulk TV series is currently in development, here is another bit of Marvel news that will surprise absolutely no one. We are hearing that Nick Fury will be the latest MCU character to appear in an upcoming Marvel TV series coming to Disney+. Samuel L. Jackson has reportedly signed on to reprise the role once again after appearing in 11 Marvel movies thus far. What remains unclear is whether this will be actually be a Nick Fury series or something else entirely. Hit the jump to find out what we know.
According to Variety, Samuel L. Jackson will play Nick Fury in a new Marvel series in development for Disney+. Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot) is attached to write and executive produce. Plot details are still unknown but the implication seems to be that Jackson would be in a lead role of some sort.
Nick Fury has always been the glue that held the MCU together but he has not been explored that much as a character himself as of yet. He had a lot of screen time in Captain Marvel, which was a prequel series set in the ’90s, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He also had a couple of appearances in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series on ABC. The biggest theory right now, however, is that this series might pick up where Spider-Man: Far from Home left off with Nick Fury’s surprising post-credit scene.
