The Croods: A New Age Trailer

The next few months are continuing to look pretty void of studio releases in theatres, but in slightly more optimistic news, Universal just set a November release date for a major upcoming sequel. Unfortunately, that sequel is… The Croods: A New Age. If you’re wondering why a Croods sequel is just coming out now, apparently this movie was in development since the first one came out back in 2013, but it was cancelled in 2016 only to get resurrected a year later after Universal acquired DreamWorks. The plot finds the prehistoric cave-dwelling Croods in search of a new home and encountering another family called The Bettermans. Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds and Catherine Keener reprise their roles while Peter Dinklage, Leslie Mann and Kelly Marie Tran are new additions to the voice cast. The Croods: A New Age hits theatres on Nov. 25th but seems like a candidate to go to premium VOD shortly afterward; check out the trailer below.

Well, I thought the first Croods was great. A lot of fun Looney Tunes slapstick humour and it looked stunning, helped no doubt by having Roger Deakins on board as a visual consultant.

The first Croods is totally underrated so I’m cool with this, though outside of Dragon Dreamworks isn’t so good with sequels
