Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Trailer

dunetrailer

There are a lot of movies that we didn’t get to see in 2020, but if Denis Villeneuve’s Dune still manages to make it into theatres this December, perhaps we can end this lacklustre cinematic year on a high note. The first trailer has finally arrived online, showcasing some beautiful otherworldly images crafted with the help of cinematographer Greig Fraser (Villeneuve’s previous collaborator Roger Deakins chose to sit this one out). Frank Herbert’s novel is epic but also dense and philosophical, making it difficult to adapt as a big blockbuster for mainstream audiences. After tackling the impossible task of making a Blade Runner sequel, Denis Villeneuve seems up to the challenge. Dune stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Javier Bardem and Charlotte Rampling and it hits theatres on Dec. 18th; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.

It’s really a shame we don’t have more directors like Denis Villeneuve nowadays. His are the only big event movies that I truly can’t wait to see at this stage.
