You could review the documentary Boys State next week!

  • Indianamcclain

For those that couldn’t figure it out, the clips Jay keeps playing are from Runnin With the Devil by Van Halen.

  • Beat_C

i’m not to sure whether to love or to hate that bloody soundboard. ????

  • Ben Bueno

Jay is unhinged with that soundboard

  • Jr

    Just using my noodle.

  • nate_austin75

Sean throwing shade at the excellent Stir of Echoes, ouch!

Got a candidate for a cursed film. Since Spielberg is on the periphery of a few of the popular cursed films, with his hand directly in the Poltergeist curse, I nominate Jurassic Park, starring Omen III’s antichrist, Sam Neill. I choose the film largely due to the presence of hurricane Iniki, which besieged the film’s production. I believe Iniki is still the worst hurricane to have ever hit the island in the recorded history of such things. Six people died. Spielberg comforted the children in the ball room. There’s even a ritual involved. A traditional Hawaiian ritual was performed to bless the crew and film when they arrived on the island. (a few seconds of the ritual are present in documentary below). What brought down a curse on the production? If one uses one traditional guideline for figuring out such things, “is blasphemy involved?”, one could argue that the film very successfully spread the gospel of atheistic evolution to a whole generation of children. “God creates dinosaurs, God kills dinosaurs, God creates man, man kills God, man brings back dinosaurs.”

  • Tim

That movie is garbage. The charcter who stays in the basement, Kevin Bacon leaves and hears a single shot. It’s implied the character killed himself. Then he comes back to save the day? Horrible writing for a horrible writer.

  • Sean, if you’re eager to check out Amy Seimetz’ Sun Don’t Shine it’s on the Criterion Channel (“Okay, let’s do it”).

  • Sean

Was I throwing shade? I don’t remember. I don’t have anything against the movie, I think I was just pointing out that David Koepp did that one as well.

  • Sean

    Duly noted!

  • Sean

    Awesome, thanks!

  • With Frank being away Sean and Jay could also review something that’s on the Criterion Channel.

  • Deven Science

I had hopes that American Pickle was going to be a movie worth watching in these crappy movie times, so it’s sad to hear that it’s meh. I’m just not excited about anything coming out. I’ve been watching TV almost exclusively.

  • Ben Bueno

Did anything really good come out since Chernobyl?
I’m clueless about what’s going on on TV these days

  • Deven Science

I’ve been watching The Umbrella Academy, The Expanse, Hanna, and Dark. My wife LOVED Ozark, but I was working weird hours, and haven’t watched it.

  • Ben Bueno

Not really my thing but thanks!

  • I liked What We Do In the Shadows so far, granted it’s mostly a comedy.

  • Ben Bueno

The movie was great, might give that a try
