The Comey Rule Trailer Starring Brendan Gleeson and Jeff Daniels

Although it feels like a lifetime ago that Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey, next month Showtime will debut a two-night mini-series about the events called The Comey Rule. Based on Comey’s memoir A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership, the series stars Jeff Daniels as Comey and Brendan Gleeson as Trump. Writer-director Billy Ray (Breach) is known for adapting true stories (most recently he wrote the script for Clint Eastwood’s Richard Jewell) and although this could easily have turned into an Adam McKay-style skewering, he is attempting to stay close to the truth without exaggerating for comedic effect. The Comey Rule co-stars Michael Kelly, Jennifer Ehle, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, William Sadler and Joe Lo Truglio and it premieres on Sept. 27th; check out the first teaser trailer below and see what you think.

I’m not sure about Jeff as Comey…great actor but the physical appearance not so much.

But either way this looks really good! LOL oh yeah I’ll catch this!

Wonder what kind of slant this will have? Billy Ray’s film “Shattered Glass” was a film about someone that wrote Fake News. I don’t think this will be about Comey writing a Fake Book.

Why would it be about Comey writing a fake book? Is it due to the fact that the United States has a fake President? Curious.
