HBO’s Watchmen Leads the 2020 Emmy Nominations

The nominations for the 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this week and they certainly spoke to the changing landscape of television with Netflix earning a record 160 nominations across all categories. Amazon, Hulu, Disney Plus and even Quibi were in the mix as well, although HBO’s Watchmen was the show that received the most nods this year with a total of 26. Ozark and Succession led the dramas with 18 nominations while The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel topped the comedy categories with 20. The Mandalorian received 15 nominations.
