That makes sense, I’m sure it’s a lot of work to keep multiple platforms updated. Maybe, as an intermediate step, you could remove the regular site’s comments section, and just link to the public Patreon post.

We do make the posts public on Patreon once they go up on the regular site so that anyone can read the comments there but yeah, we have no real solution for this currently. We have contemplated just shutting down the regular site and making Patreon our official site. It would simplify things a lot.

i guess most FJ listeners are from north america, but i just wanted to report that movie theaters have been open for a month or so now here in switzerland. everything seems to be going well. the problem is: there are hardly any new movies to show … i hope that’s a chance for movies that otherwise would go straight to streaming.

A lot of the conversation seems to have moved to the Patron comments. I’m glad that so many are donating, and am happy to do so myself, but it is unfortunate that the show discussions are now split.

I really liked First Cow, like most Reichardt movies I wasn’t blown away, but still thoroughly enjoyed it. Can’t hate that type of bromance, and those donuts…

I’ve just got an episode or two left, but I love Dark. Love it. My wife is much more confused by who’s who than I am, and she keeps wishing for a Talking Dead type of show to help her sort it out. I admit that season 3 is even scrambling my brains a bit.

I didn’t see Greyhound so can’t comment. The U-boat war was highly psychological. Allied ships were terrified of them, with propaganda or without. But the conditions in these U-boats, as portrayed in Das Boot, were extremely difficult. You needed a very high degree of stamina and nerves of steel to serve on such a vessel. Another good movie on the subject (though not to the level of Das Boot) is U-571, which was mentioned on the show.

Been a long time seen I watched Das Boot , must get on it. I really enjoyed Greyhound, didnt mind the CG it was pretty obvoius but didnt get in the way. Loved the technical stuff wouldnt have minded more strategy. I thought I read something ages ago that the germans did put out propagandist messages over radio to nearby forces, cant remember if it related to U-boats though.
