The 2018 Johnny Knoxville comedy Action Point was a pretty huge critical and commercial failure, but what many people may not have realized at the time is that it is based on a true story. Action Park was a water park in Vernon, New Jersey that operated throughout the ’80s and ’90s and was known for being extremely unsafe, causing serious injuries and several deaths over the years with little repercussion. Believe it or not, for some people, that was actually a selling point. There was a short documentary made about it back in 2013, but now the writer and producer of that documentary is bringing us a feature-length version as well. Class Action Park will arrive on HBO Max next month while also playing at the Fantasia Film Festival; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
