David Ayer’s The Tax Collector Trailer

After directing two successful yet divisive big budget tentpoles with Suicide Squad and Bright, David Ayer is going back to his roots with his latest film, The Tax Collector. Keeping in line with many of his early films, this is an L.A.-set crime movie and it stars Shia LaBeouf and Bobby Soto as two enforcers for a crime lord named Wizard. When one of Wizard’s rivals returns to L.A. from Mexico, however, a war breaks out and one of them is forced to take steps to protect his family. With a supporting cast that includes Cinthya Carmona and George Lopez, The Tax Collector hits select theatres and VOD on August 7th. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.

    I can’t say that I’m a Ayer fan, Furry is about the only film of his that I’ve liked, but getting to see Shia in a big mainstream film where he is killing fools is appealing to me.

    End of Watch is great, but yeah, I agree, looking forward to this.

    I remember liking that, but I watched it pretty stoned a while ago and barely remember it. So I feel like I need to rewatch it to be able to say that I’m a fan of it.

    Well it’s also been 7-8 years since I’ve seen it and I was much younger so take my enthusiasm with a grain of salt too, but at the time I was super impressed. Also, Fury was okay and I didn’t like Training Day (saw it a week ago for the first time) so yeah, um, I guess I’ll watch this if it’s supposed to be good haha
