Foundation Teaser Trailer: Isaac Asimov’s Sci-Fi Classic Comes to Apple TV+

Although high-profile original programming for Apple TV+ has been somewhat slow to materialize so far, they did acquire the rights to the Tom Hanks WWII movie Greyhound last month and they still have a few other big properties up their sleeves. This week at their Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming sci-fi series Foundation, based on the books by Isaac Asimov. The show stars Jared Harris as Hari Seldon, a mathematics professor in the far-flung future who invents psychohistory, a technique that allows him to predict future events on a large scale. When he foresees the eventual fall of the Galactic Empire, he must take steps to minimize the chaos that will ensue. With David S. Goyer acting as showrunner and Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell) directing, Foundation is expected to premiere sometime in 2021. Check out the teaser below and let us know what you think.

I’m one of those people that love the original Foundation novels. I don’t know that it can actually be a good series, but I’ll admit that the trailer looks great.
