Force of Nature Trailer Starring Mel Gibson

Although Rob Cohen’s The Hurricane Heist didn’t really seem to attract much of an audience back in 2018, fans of this very specific “extreme weather crime thriller” sub-genre might want to keep an eye on the upcoming VOD release Force of Nature. Directed by Michael Polish (The Astronaut Farmer), the movie stars Emile Hirsch as a disgraced cop attempting to evacuate an apartment building during a Category 5 hurricane. When he discovers that a gang of thieves are attempting to rob a wealthy tenant, he must team up with Dr. Troy (Kate Bosworth) and her retired detective father (Mel Gibson) to stop them. Make no mistake, this movie would almost certainly have been a VOD release even prior to COVID-19, so make of that what you will. Force of Nature arrives on VOD on June 30th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Wow Bosworth Gibson and Hirsch once big stars now doing movies like this…man things change fast.

And Hurricane heist was a meh movie and this looks like a repeat of that.

Kind of bummed to see it’s not just Gibson taking on the bad guys by himself. When I first heard about this I thought it was more of a Die Hard in a Hurricane thing, but I’m still slightly interested.

You can know if somethings VOD just by its main stars. if you saw any new trailer starring Hirsch or Bosworth, 99% of the time that means straight to VOD baby. Also Cage, Cusac, Willis, Travolta, and more often than not these days, Pacino , deniro and Jackson are a sign of VOD. All once superstars who just seem to make anything going these days. Although maybe Hirsch will be back up there after Tarantino used him, look what it did for Travolta, granted he’s back down again.
