For years, director Bruce McDonald and writer Tony Burgess have been promising a sequel to their unconventional zombie movie Pontypool, and although that hasn’t happened yet, their upcoming movie Dreamland is actually a spin-off of sorts. Building on Pontypool‘s surreal post-credit stinger, the movie stars Stephen McHattie as a hitman tasked with delivering the finger of a trumpet player (also played by McHattie) to a mob boss (Henry Rollins). He soon starts to have second thoughts about the job, which will require him to infiltrate the fortified wedding of crime queen The Countess (Juliette Lewis). Vampires are apparently also involved. Dreamland arrives on VOD on June 5th; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
