After all the impressive stunts he has done over the years, you have to assume that it is getting harder and harder for Tom Cruise to find a way to top himself. For Top Gun: Maverick, he flew his own fighter jet and pulled off some extreme aerial stunts. As he continues to chase that next adrenaline fix, it appears that the 57 year old actor is preparing to take this journey to its logical conclusion. That’s right, Tom Cruise is reportedly heading to the final frontier. We are hearing that Tom Cruise is teaming up with NASA and Elon Musk’s SpaceX for a movie that would be the first narrative feature film ever shot in outer space. This week NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine confirmed the news via social media and revealed that the project will involve the International Space Station:
NASA is excited to work with @TomCruise on a film aboard the @Space_Station! We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make @NASA’s ambitious plans a reality. pic.twitter.com/CaPwfXtfUv

Whenever a movie franchise seems to have run its course, people always joke that the only thing left to do is make a sequel in space. Leave it to Tom Cruise to actually make that a reality. That being said, current reports indicate that this won’t actually be a Mission: Impossible movie and no studio is involved at this stage. Are you excited to see Tom Cruise in space?
