With SXSW gearing up to offer digital premieres of some of their programming online in partnership with Amazon, Tribeca is the next major film festival being forced to grapple with the COVID-19 shutdown. The festival was originally slated to happen this week in New York City, but organizers are now moving some of the programming online as well (although most of it will only be available to journalists and industry folks). That being said, a lot of the major titles are expected to move to the Tribeca TV Festival in September instead. One of the movies that probably falls into the latter category is Kubrick by Kubrick, a documentary by Gregory Monro (Jerry Lewis: The Man Behind the Clown) that explores Stanley Kubrick’s work through previously unreleased interviews with the man himself and exclusive archival footage. There has been no shortage of Kubrick-related docs as of late (Room 237, Filmworker, S is for Stanley), but this still looks like it could be a worthy addition. The movie is currently seeking distribution so the release date is TBA; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.
