Yeon Sang-ho’s tense zombie thriller Train to Busan was a global hit in 2016 and remains one of the highest-grossing South Korean films ever. It already spawned an animated prequel called Seoul Station and now this week we have the first trailer for the proper live-action sequel, Peninsula. The movie takes place four years later and follows a former soldier who is given a mission to return to the abandoned and overrun Korean peninsula but everything changes when he unexpectedly finds survivors. On the one hand, this movie is losing one of the things that made the original Train to Busan great: the inherently claustrophobic, confined space of a train. On the other hand, it looks to be opening things up and taking it to a whole new level of action and chaos. Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula will be released sometime in 2020; check out the first trailer below and let us know what you think.
