If you thought HBO’s McMillions was the quirkiest true crime documentary series likely to be released this year, Netflix has something for you. They’ve just released the trailer for Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, an upcoming non-fiction series about Joe Exotic, the eccentric owner of an Oklahoma roadside zoo filled with tigers, lions, bears, alligators, and, uh, tiligers. When he finds himself in the sights of animal activist Carole Baskin, their rivalry spirals out of control and eventually leads to Joe being arrest for a murder-for-hire plot… and that’s just the start of it. This is a documentary that definitely seems like it will justify its existence as a series rather than a feature, although it almost seems too wild to be taken seriously. Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness is directed by Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin and it arrives on Netflix on March 20th; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
