All eyes are on The Invisible Man this weekend as Universal makes another attempt to breathe new life into their Universal Monsters franchise with the help of Blumhouse. Early reviews and box office tracking seem promising but it will definitely be ironic if the movie can manage an opening weekend on par with 2017’s The Mummy, which cost $120 million more to make. In limited release this weekend we also have Benh Zeitlin’s follow up to Beasts of the Southern Wild, a new take on the Peter Pan story called Wendy. Other new movies arriving simultaneously in select theatres and on VOD include John Turturro’s The Big Lebowski spin-off The Jesus Rolls, the hyperviolent action-thriller Guns Akimbo starring Daniel Radcliffe and the Niagara Falls-set mystery Disappearance at Clifton Hill. What will you be watching this weekend?
