One of my top 10 feelings in life is seeing Game Junk in my new podcasts feed, I’m not even joking.

  • MartyMcFlyJr

I think an “it’s for Gambit’s eyes only!” drop needs to be added to your soundboard for future use on film junk. An instant classic right there.

  • pcch7

    Love me some Game Junk

  • andyluvsfilms

I’ll still listen to this even though I’m not a gamer.

  • Tim

I completely relate to Frank’s complaints about Control, based on my experience with Quantuum Break- it starts promisingly then devolves into horrible camera angle problems, frustrating jumps, and ridiculous boss fights. The only reason I finished it is turning down the difficulty. “Fuck You” Frankie is the best v.g. critic going!

Control feels like the ultimate in generic video game titles. Red Head Ginger Powers surely would have been a better choice.

  • pcch7

Frank should play 198X, it’s very short. And good

  • I came here hoping that there would be a list of everyone’s top games from the show. That way I don’t have to store the names of these games in the failing HDD that I like to call my brain.

  • Falsk

Okay, but wait, inquiring minds need to know. Sean, why SPECIFICALLY is your PS4 on erasers? Is there some magical property that’s better at dispelling heat than, say, pieces of wood or some shit? How do you have so many disposable erasers in the first place????

  • Sean

Someone recommended it on a forum somewhere. I assume for the same reason a lot of things have rubber underneath them, just so they don’t slide around? But the kids have hundreds of erasers so I happened to have some handy.

  • HuckCity

I believe it’s so that you can get maximum air flow under the console to help cool it….so doesn’t have to be erasers, just something that is fairly small that can hold it up in the corners (but erasers do add that extra non-slip factor)

  • Sean

Right, not sure if that’s what Falsk was asking but the erasers are just propping up the corners so air still flows underneath. Putting it on a book or piece of wood wouldn’t be the same, but putting little pieces of wood under each corner probably would.

  • Fo

Glad to see another episode. Thanks fellas. Hope all is well w/you and your fams.

  • A million things to say but can only remember a couple.

    1) Thanks Andrew for the “Slay the Spire” recommendation. I play a similar game on my mobile but this version on Xbox is much better and I’ve been playing the hell out of it. Awesome!

    2) I HATE in Fallen Order the boss fights that you don’t know what health level you need to get them to. I would play for a while and only get the boss down to maybe 2/3 health. I tried like five times and then gave up knowing I’d never get him to zero. So I’d put the difficulty to easy and realize that I was pretty close to getting him the first time; I just needed to get a little bit more. So I put the difficulty back up and try again, knowing where the “win” level is. It’s just dumb and poor game design.

And that sliding and jumping shit was the worst. It was PS2 level gameplay. I had a couple other weird, glitchy moments that stopped this from being a great game. I beat it once and traded it into Gamestop for something else.

Surprised you guys didn’t mention crafting the lightsabers. That was one of my favorite aspects of the game – even if it was only cosmetic and aside from the color, could only be seen while on the workbench.

  • You guys could easily do a 30 minute episode every week. Just have Huck come over after recording Film Junk and do a quickie episode while everyone is there anyway.

  • Buying Death Stranding on eBay RIGHT NOW!

  • Newtman98

Oh man, didn’t know there was another Trials game. How does it rank compare to the other ones?

  • Newtman98

My wallet always takes a hit after a new Game Junk. My 2019 was pretty much consumed with Slay the Spire and Binding of Isaac. Both games are addicting because you never know when you’re going to get god-like synergies.

  • Newtman98

I’ve never played an Ace Combat but I love flying games with dog fights. I remember loving that snoopy flying game back in the day. I might pick up the new AC.

  • Blake in Boston

It’s pretty good. I really liked the first few Trials games, but fell off the series when the aesthetic went all futuristic/whimsical. It’s more grounded, like the original series–my only complaint is that the menus/UI are a chore to navigate. Definitely worth picking up if you’re an old school Trials fan, though.
