Gangs of London Trailer: The Raid Director Jumps to TV

If you’ve been wondering what The Raid director Gareth Evans has been working on as a follow-up to his last film, Apostle, the answer probably won’t surprise you: he’s moving to TV. Evans is producing a TV series called Gangs of London that looks to bring his bone-crunching style of action to a serialized format with cinematographer Matt Flannery also coming along for the ride. The show stars Joe Cole (A Prayer Before Dawn) as the son of a murdered London crime boss (Colm Meaney) who is intent on hunting down his father’s killers. Evans directs half of the episodes himself with Corin Hardy (The Nun) and Xavier Gens (Hitman) handling the rest. Gangs of London arrives on Sky Atlantic in the U.K. and Cinemax in the U.S. sometime this year; check out the first trailer after the jump and see what you think.
