After appearing together in Riley Stearns’ dark comedy The Art of Self-Defense last year, Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots are teaming up again for another dark comedy with a sci-fi twist. Directed by Irish filmmaker Lorcan Finnegan, Vivarium revolves around a young house-hunting couple who suddenly find themselves trapped in a labyrinthine neighborhood of identical houses and forced to follow the whims of an unknown force. The goal, or so it seems, is to skewer mindless middle-class American ideals by indulging in the atmosphere and trappings of a horror movie. Consider me interested, although the trailer also goes on to highlight an 89% score on Rotten Tomatoes (now 87%) which feels a little… desperate?
