Yes, I watched it in German. I’m always trying to learn foreign languages, but I‘ll never be a polyglot.

I love reading subtitles. It’s a problem of getting access to foreign TV shows. I was lucky enough to find seasons of the Danish show Borgen. I have seen some German films: The Lives of Others, Run Lola Run, and The Experiment come to mind.

There were a lot of characters introduced, but I found that cool and the use of family photographs help the audience connect the characters.

‘Mafia acting’. Just when I thought he was talking some sense he pulls me back out!

  • Deven Science

I burned through all three seasons of Dark this (or rather, last) year. It’s a great show.

There’s a dude selling Bluray copies of the Despecialized Editions on eBay. I picked up mine from him. He’s only selling his labor for the burning and packaging, so it’s legal, as I see it.

  • How is their picture quality?

The same crew are releasing the Despecialized Editions in 4K. I probably won’t download them for a while since those files will be enormous.

  • Deven Science

Just watched the first one today, and man, I’m happy with the quality. I watched it with my brother, and he said that he was definitely going to buy a set for himself.

I have never posted before but feel compelled after the Watchmen drool by Jay and Frank. I watched the first 5 episodes and was left wondering if Jay’s Jedi powers have slackened. When Irons was catapulting the bodies into the sky, it hit me. I don’t care what this is about. It was all very cute, well shot and acted but it was little more than glorified TV plot-porn. How could your powers have failed you Jay to avoid plot traps? It is the reason I avoid TV like the plague, except as a passive armchair watcher of my wife’s eternal TV lust. Now I wait for the Sun of Sean to disinfect Frank’s and Jay’s unseemly love of Watchmen in a future episode review.

I enjoy ranking films as much as the next person but how many of the Star Wars films are actually, genuinely good? To my mind, just the original trilogy. The rest are just states of relative mediocrity/crapness.
