When Veep concluded its seventh and final season back in May, series creator Armando Ianucci had already parted ways with the show a couple of years ago. His movie career had started to take off and it seemed like he was moving away from television, but lo and behold his next HBO series is set to debut early next year. Avenue 5 finds him getting away from current events and politics and instead embracing the absurdity of a possible future where space tourism has become a reality. Hugh Laurie plays the captain of a luxury space cruise ship with a supporting cast that includes Josh Gad, Zach Woods, Nikki Amuka, Rebecca Front, Lenora Crichlow, Suzy Nakamura and Ethan Phillips.
