With Disney currently on track to earn a staggering $11 billion at the global box office this year (completely annihilating their previous record of $7.8 billion) thanks to an unprecedented line-up of massive hits, it was probably inevitable that next year’s crop of films would pale in comparison. That being said, 2020 is looking particularly weak even by Disney standards with only Black Widow and Eternals coming from Marvel, a pair of original Pixar movies that are most flying under the radar, and the Dwayne Johnson / Emily Blunt vehicle Jungle Cruise. The other major release is their live-action adaptation of Mulan, the classic tale of a young woman who poses as a man to become a warrior in the Imperial Army and defend China from Northern invaders. Directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider), it looks to have some interesting action sequences although whether this can be the massive hit that they need remains to be seen. Mulan stars Yifei Liu, Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Gong Li and Jet Li and it hits theatres on March 26th; check out the new trailer after the jump and see what you think.
