    Epic show! Thanks!

  • Bizzaro Nate

At this rate by next year, Jay will be watching the Simpsons from 30 blocks away on Frank’s 2000 inch TV.

  • devolutionary

From Frank’s Black Friday haul we definitely know the thing that will get butts back in theatres. Free complementary samples of Vim at the door. Scrub that popcorn machine!–xijdeWyH–/c_limit%2Cf_auto%2Cfl_progressive%2Cq_auto%2Cw_880/

Frank’s über must be paying off lol

The last time I saw Goodfellas a few years ago I was quite bored by it and didn’t anticipate I’d love The Irishman as much as I did.

We watch ageing gangsters unable to stop time putting a hit on them. Generational icons facing up to their on and off-screen mortality. People of a certain age who have grown up with these acting legends are asked to say goodbye to these actors, this filmmaker and an era of filmmaking and cinema. Possibly to this type of gangster flick.

There’s a real finality to this film that is hard to shake. I can’t wait to watch it again.

Hi Sean, I have a glossary suggestion – Lawrence Ganier, or whatever it is Jay always says when LG is mentioned!

  • Sean

Good one, thanks! The glossary is probably due for an update anyway.

  • Dan Gordon

Jay, next time you’re in LA you have to check out the New Beverly. It’s Tarantino’s movie theatre and the best movie going experience I’ve ever had. Cheap concessions too– Vintage candy, soda, good hot dogs.

  • Jr

Quality flick. Glad that Philip Seymour Damon kid is getting some good gigs.

  • Sam

I live in OC but still have never been. Been meaning to head out there but with kids it’s hard to find some time.

I do listen to the Pure Cinema Podcast on occassion which is sponsored by the New Bev and they go over the upcoming calendar for every month. Am tempted to check out a few of the Christmas horror releases later this month.

  • Indianamcclain

The Bev is the best. Greatest movie theatre popcorn I’ve ever had as well.

  • Indianamcclain

Got a chance to check out 1917 and absolutely loved it. One of the best films of the year for sure.

  • colin the dude

Sean, I will not stand for your Casino indifference. Nuh uh, no way.

  • Beat_C

6 out of 5 for “The Irishman” is definitely too much. Shows how desperate this year was.

  • Beat_C

I mean, the fact that LG actually stands for “Lucky GoldStar”, as I’ve just learned, is just perfect for Frank.

  • Beat_C

“expensive but worth every dollar” ????

  • Something tells me Sean is gonna drop a 6 next week on Marriage Story.
