It may be a movie that fans have been wanting to see for years, but it feels like there hasn’t been a lot of hype for Marvel’s upcoming Black Widow movie up until now. We’ll see if that all changes with the release of the first trailer this week, which delves into Natasha Romanoff’s past although it doesn’t seem to go quite as far back as some were expecting. It seems like a big part of the movie takes place within the MCU timeline (specifically, between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War) although there are some pre-MCU flashbacks as well. The movie finds her reconnecting with fellow KGB agents including Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff and David Harbour as Alexei Shoskatov aka Red Guardian (aka the Soviet equivalent of Captain America). Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland (Lore, Berlin Syndrome) and it hits theatres on May 1st; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
