One of the standard criticisms of the DC extended universe over the past decade has been that it is overly dark and gritty, and although not all DC properties fall into that category, the DC Universe streaming service has mostly doubled down on that reputation. Their latest show is Harley Quinn, an upcoming animated series aimed at mature audiences and this week they have released a full trailer that is chock full of f-bombs and severed heads. Although the irreverent humour is clearly in line with the character, something about the forced edginess does feel a bit tiresome. The voice cast includes Kaley Cuoco as Harley Quinn, Lake Bell as Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk as the Joker and Tony Hale as Doctor Psycho. Harley Quinn premieres on Nov. 29th; check out the trailer below and see what you think.
