Color Out of Space Trailer Starring Nicolas Cage

When it was first announced that Nicolas Cage was teaming up with cult director Richard Stanley (Hardware) for an adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s Color Out of Space, there was a general feeling that it might be this year’s Mandy. While that doesn’t seem to be entirely the case, the movie still earned solid reviews coming out of TIFF and now this week the first official trailer has dropped. At the very least, it certainly looks strange and visually compelling and from what we are hearing it is fairly true to the source material. The story revolves around a family that is forced to battle a “mutant extraterrestrial organism as it infects their minds and bodies” after a meteorite lands near their farm. Produced by Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah, they are also hoping this will be the first in an entire Lovecraft trilogy with Stanley. Color Out of Space co-stars Joely Richardson, Madeleine Arthur, Elliot Knight and Tommy Chong and it hits select theatres on Jan. 24th; check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
